Noon Lenten Service

The Noon Lenten Service will be held at First United Methodist Church. Reverend Richard Gould will speak on “The Spear”.  The offering from each service will go to support Rise Against Hunger. A soup and sandwich lunch will follow the service.

Maundy Thursday Service

Central UMC will host a community Maundy Thursday Service at 7:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. This service will include congregational hymns, readings, and a pastoral message by Rev. Dennis Sheppard.  It will conclude with Holy Communion offered to all in attendance.

Easter Sunrise Service

Easter Sunday, the observance of the glory of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, will begin with an outdoor Sunrise Service in front of Central UMC at 7:00 a.m. (If there is rain, the service will be held in the church chapel.)

Easter Egg Hunt

Children Annual Easter Egg Hunt to be held on Easter Sunday morning from 9:45 until 10:30 a.m. on Church Grounds.

Easter Sunday Worship Service

The Easter Sunday Worship Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. instead of the usual 11:00 a.m., and will be held in Central UMC sanctuary. It will feature congregational singing, the "Flowering of the Cross," choral anthems, an Easter message from Rev. Richard Blount ("Good News of Great Joy"), and Holy Communion.

Bearing Fruit Class

A small group who is meeting weekly to study the book “Bearing Fruit” by Tom Berlin. The group is working with and supporting the South Davidson Resource Center. The class meets weekly from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Church Hut.

Davidson County Department of Social Services

Denton Town Hall

The Davidson County Department of Social Services will be having office hours in Denton on the third Wednesday of each month at the Denton Town Hall. This is for anyone needing assistance in the area of Medicaid and Food Stamps.

Children’s Recognition Sunday

The children of the church will receive a special gift from the Church Vitality Committee. Please see to it that your children and grandchildren who normally come to church are in worship to receive this gift.
