Central UMC Denton

The Uwharrie District will offer a Lay Servant Training Class on Preaching on Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.  The class will be taught by Rev. Aldana Allen and it will be held at Providence UMC in Salisbury, NC.  You can register online at uwharriedistrict.org.

The Uwharrie District will offer a Lay Servant Training Class - "The Basic Course" - on Sundays, October 13 and 27 and November 3, 10, and 17, 2019, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.  The course will be taught by Reverend Richard Blount at Central UMC in Denton.  You can register online at uwharriedistrict.org.

An AA Group meets at First United Methodist Church (376 S. Main Street, Denton) each Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.  The meetings focus on the first three steps.  Enter through the lower level door on left end of the building off the parking lot behind the church.

Central United Methodist Church will sponsor a Community Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m.  The event will be held in the church hut and is free to all.  Denton Police Chief Mark Hicks will present a program on "Staying Safe in Today's World (Part 2) & Hazard-less Holidays." The Denton Parks and Recreation Committee along with merchants and volunteers will sponsor a Street Treat Festival on Halloween.  It will take place on Thursday, October 31, 2019, from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. in downtown Denton.  Central UMC will, once again, sponsor a Cake Walk and Candy Giveaway at the Farmer's Market.   Individually wrapped […]

The Central United Methodist Women and Men will again hold a BBQ Fundraiser on November 2, 2019.  Mark your calendars and check back for more details!  

Don't forget to change your clocks and fall back one hour on November 3, 2019.  It is the official end to Daylight Savings Time, and you get back that extra hour's sleep you lost in the spring.    

There will be a church clean-up day on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. until noon.  Volunteers are needed - many hands make little work!
