A brief training session will be held following the 11:00 church service on Sunday, January 21.  Acolytes (and their parents) and Cross Bearers are asked to meet in the sanctuary with Beth Ligon and Margaret Harris.

A free seminar on church security will be offer on Sunday, January 21, at 3:00 p.m. at the Southern Theater and Event Center in Denton.  All clergy and laity who are interested in learning about security and safety at our church are encouraged to attend.

The church trustees will meet on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall.

A meeting of the CUMC Administrative Council Meeting will be held on January 28 following church at 12:30 p.m. in the church hut.  Lunch will be served.  All are invited to attend.

A one-day church retreat will be held at Mt. Shepherd Retreat Center in Asheboro, NC, on Saturday, February 10.  All are invited to attend to help determine where God is leading our church.  The Retreat Center's address is 1045 Mount Shepherd Road Ext., Asheboro, NC.  More detail to follow.

On Sunday, February 11, there will be a District Laity Training entitled Equip, Empower, Extend.  It will be held at Central United Methodist Church in Albemarle, beginning at 2:00 p.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m.  There will be 11 workshop to choose between.  All are invited.

The Ashe Wednesday Service, a Service of Ashes, will be held at First United Methodist Church at noon.  Rev. Dennis Sheppard, pastor of First and Canaan Churches, will deliver the message.  The offering received will be used to fund the annual food packaging event for "Rise Against Hunger" that will be held in May.

On February 14, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., there will be a drop-in social in the Hut in celebration of Ed and Dottie Roberson's 65th Wedding Anniversary.  Refreshments will be served, and everyone is invited.  No gifts please.
