Local Mission – Outreach for Classic Restaurant and adjacent businesses affected by fire

Thursday night, December 22 at 7:00 p.m. in church fellowship hall.

Central UMC as well as the entire community of Denton are mourning the loss of The Classic Restaurant and adjacent businesses, and in the midst of that loss there are all of the employees to consider. How many people are out of work right here at Christmas? They are not going to be experiencing a short term loss. There aren’t a lot of jobs here in Denton. What does it mean for us to be the hands and feet of Christ reaching out to those in need right here in Denton?
Thursday night at 7pm in the Hut there will be a meeting of pastors and community leaders from around Denton coming together to talk about how best to help those employees who are now out of work because of the fire and its devastating aftermath.
We need to figure out how to help them monetarily in the short term, and how to use our contacts and connections to help these people find new jobs. This is a truly urgent need. I know it’s less than a week before Christmas, but please plan to come out for this meeting Thursday night at 7 pm in the Hut.
