Reverend Richard Blount
I graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Fine Art, and moved to North Carolina in 2001 to pursue a career as a Graphic Designer. I discovered the hard way I was not meant to work in a windowless cubicle in the middle of a warehouse. I fought the call to ministry for about four years before I realized calling is not about what a person does. Calling is about who and what a person is. Once I decided to be obedient to God’s call the whirlwind adventure began. God lead my family and I to Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky to earn a Masters of Divinity. I have been serving in ministry for five years, and my family and I are grateful to be serving here at Central UMC in Denton, North Carolina.

Preschool Director Ann Crouse
– I love my job!
– I taught Kindergarten at Denton Elementary School from 1976-2011
– I love children’s books
I retired from teaching Kindergarten on July 1, 2011. Friends questioned me about what I was going to do now that I was retired. My response was, “God will provide something as I am not sitting at home.” In July the preschool’s assistant job became open and then the teacher’s job. So in September 2011 I met my first class of preschoolers. Kindergarten had truly been my love and passion but preschool replaced that quickly. I love the preschoolers and their families. Preschool is truly God sent!

– two step daughters and three grandsons
I retired from secretarial work after 29 years, and now I help with the preschool at Central UMC in Denton. Working with the preschool children is truly a blessing to me. I have always loved children and coming to work everyday brings me tremendous joy.

In 1988 I became the choir director. It is an absolute blessing to work with our dedicated choir members and musicians as we endeavor to witness to the glory of God through music.
